Our Philosophy

Built For the University.

The Centre was established to deliver employability and career development skills to students, and to provide psychological health services to the University community. Its work combines career development services, counselling, psychotherapy, assessment, orientation, and preventive psychological hygiene programmes.

How Support Is Organized.

CCCD combines central leadership at Awka Campus with campus outposts and trained Career Officers closer to students and staff.

Deputy Directors are domiciled at Awka Campus and head outpost support.

Nnewi & Agulu

Outposts serve Nnewi Campus and Agulu Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Career Officers

Faculty-wide

Trained officers serve faculties and departments, including Agriculture at Ifite-Ogwari.

Service Access

Support close to the community.

Students, staff, intending members, alumni, and the consulting public can access career guidance, counselling, and psychotherapy support through the Centre.

  • Orientation and psychological hygiene seminars that help students stay focused, healthy, and strategic.

Clinical And Behavioural Care

Therapeutic Support Level

  • Care for anxiety, addictive behaviour, burnout, conflict, confusion, depressive symptoms, distress, PTSD, and suicidal ideation.
  • Support for conduct disorders, somatization, maladaptive behaviour, and deviant workplace behaviour.
  • Behaviour modification, cognitive restructuring, and other psychotherapy approaches matched to the concern.
